December 26, 2013. "Troop greeter Bill Knight dies Christmas Day at the age of 91". Stars and Stripes. Bill was a long-time greeter at Bangor International Airport. He is featured in the 2009 film documentary entitled "The Way We Get By". Knight was a 32-year military veteran and it is estimated that he shook hands with over a half-million troops returning home from the war in Iraq or Afghanistan.
