IMO Sergeant Corey A. Dan

Sergeant Corey A. Dan, age 22, of Norway, Maine died in Iraq on March 13, 2006. He died near Ramadi, Iraq when his unit came under small-arms fire and a roadside bomb detonated. SGT Dan was assigned to the Army's 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Corey Dan graduated from Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School in Maine in 2001. While at Oxford he was enrolled in the schools Law Enforcement Training Program. Dan entered the service on September 11, 2001. He had deployed to Iraq in 2003. SGT Dan had just re-enlisted for four additional years in the Army in July 2005 after returning from a combat tour in Afghanistan. His future plans had included returning to Maine, attending college, and entering a law enforcement career. He leaves behind a son who was born in December, 2005. |

Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism
Service Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Air Assault Badge, National Defense
Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal,
Parachutist Badge Basic, and the Weapons Qualification Badge. Posthumously he
