Angel Rosa

Lance Corporal Angel Rosa, age 21, of South Portland, Maine was killed March 13, 2007 in combat in Anbar Province, Iraq.  He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division,  II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

Angel Rosa graduated from South Portland High School in 2004 where he was captain of the soccer team.  He also volunteered to referee in youth soccer programs and worked as a community volunteer before joining the Marines.  Rosa attended the University of Southern Maine in the fall of 2005 for one semester prior to joining the service.  He joined the Marines in February 2006.  His long-term plans were to become a police officer or fire fighter after his tour in the service. 

He leaves behind his wife, mother, stepfather, sister, and many other family members.
